I am trying to get on an individual health insurance plan, but I have no idea what deductables are or how they work, I just want to know how much it will cost me to go to the dr? I looked at one to day with a 5000 dollar deductible, and 20 copay for primary and 40 for regular, but I dont know what the deductible means, please help.

I know this may sound silly but for an assignment in class we have to talk about the type of medical insurance that we have and I’m embarrassed of my medicaid status. The instructor says it’s ok that it’s fictional or it could be our own but I really don’t know any other medical insurance plans besides my own to talk about. Can someone give me some ideas?

My husband has health insurance through his employer. His brothers daughters don’t have any at all, and they live right next door to us so that are frequently here. Is there a way to allow them to be on our health plan without actually “adopting” them. Please help! Also, if adopting them is the only way… how do I ask their parents if they would be interested in our adopting their children with out them totally freaking out?!

Yes, you can. Keep in mind, short term health insurance is more of a major medical kind of thing, and doesn’t usually cover routine or maintenance stuff.

I went to kp . org . I am trying to find a health insurance plan . I am 31 years old female, recently married. Would like to find one that covers me and my spouse ( 32 male ) . We are pretty healthy and go to the doc about Once a year. Neither of us are on any regular med ( other the BC pill . ) I see a tun of options on Kaiser’s website and we are in California so I was wondering if any one could recommend one plan over another . it is very confusing. Also I should ad we are self employed so this would not be covered by an employer but possibly does kaiser offer a discount for small business owners. Health insurance can be very expensive so I am looking for the best advise on what I should be looking for in a health plan .
